The big clean

A few strong pre-wash stages and rinses took place to loosen most of the grime that was trapped in nooks and crannies. Next, we moved to the hand wash which removed the remaining bits of stubborn dirt. After a final rinse and the car was inspected for contamination and just the feeling of the paint was enough to assess just how bad it was – it literally felt like sandpaper. Remaining chunks and splatter of glue and tar were removed followed by a round of fallout remover which was left to dwell for about 5 minutes before being rinsed off. Finally, a clay bar made specifically for heavily contaminated surfaces was used to pull off the remaining embedded contaminants leaving a significantly smoother surface ready for polishing.
